SUMMARY:PyData Yerevan October 2024
DESCRIPTION:PyData Yerevan October 2024 announces the meetup of its new series!\nAleksandr Sarachakov\, Biomedical Imaging Team Lead at BostonGene\, will deliver a talk on “Revolutionizing Cancer Treatment: Harnessing AI\, Zarr\, and AnnData for High-Speed Biomedical Imaging.”\n#Zarr and #AnnData\, Python-based technologies\, are revolutionizing the landscape of biomedical image processing\, especially when paired with self-supervised learning (SSL). Zarr\, a chunked and compressed data storage format\, enables the efficient handling of datasets found in biomedical applications. AnnData\, a specialized framework for multi-dimensional annotated data\, plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing large-scale biomedical datasets.\nIn the context of #SSL\, these technologies boost the processing speed and reduce the computational load for handling high-resolution images and complex datasets. Zarr’s ability to store multi-terabyte data in distributed and parallelized environments allows for faster processing and analysis of biomedical images. AnnData complements this by providing structured\, annotated data that SSL models can efficiently learn from without extensive labeling. This combination reduces memory usage\, making it feasible to handle biomedical images on a large scale. These advancements are pivotal for applications like cancer diagnosis\, where rapid\, accurate image analysis is critical. \nDuring the talk\, our speaker will explore: \n\n how Zarr and AnnData facilitate scalable biomedical image processing\,\n outline their integration with SSL for cutting-edge research\,\n and discuss future developments in optimizing biomedical workflows.\n\nSave the date to attend the meetup on October 17\, at 19:00\, in the PMI Science R&D Center (Teryan 105\, 13th Building).\nRegister here: https://forms.gle/hWdTwCBfcSprjAgc7 \n  \nYou can find more tech events happening in Armenia here

SUMMARY:BioML Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join the BioML Hackathon aimed at addressing some of the most critical\nchallenges in biomedicine! \nWhy to participate?\nMachine Learning is emerging as a powerful tool offering new ways to combat diseases and\nimprove human health. If you have experience training #ML models\, we invite you to contribute\nto the effort against cardiotoxicity in drug discovery. \nChallenge Overview\nDrug discovery is a complex process. Although many drug candidates demonstrate promising\nresults in animal models\, only 11% reach the market. A significant reason for the high failure\nrate is toxicity\, when small molecules unintentionally inhibit a key protein that regulates the\nhuman heartbeat\, leading to severe side effects and rendering the drug unusable.\nWhat will be your task at the Hackathon?\nDuring this competition\, your task will be to train an ML model to predict whether a compound\ninhibits the critical protein. \nParticipation Requirements\n● Prior experience in training machine learning models\,\n● You can join individually or as a team (up to 3 people)\,\nNo prior chemical knowledge is required. The competition begins with a lecture that will teach\nyou how to train ML models on molecules. You will be provided with a dataset of molecules in\nSMILES format\, along with inhibition labels (0 or 1). \nWhat will you gain at the end?\nBy developing a leading predictive model\, you will contribute to reducing cardiotoxicity risks and\nboosting the success rate of clinical trials.\nYou will also work under the mentorship of experts from leading biomedical companies\, such as\nDenovo Sciences\, Amaros AI\, Optic\, and BostonGene. \nPRIZES\nYes\, there will be prizes! The hackathon features a total prize pool of $2000\, with the following\nrewards for the top three participants: \n\n1st place – $1000 Amazon Gift Card\n2nd place – $600 Amazon Gift Card\n3rd place – $400 Amazon Gift Card\n\nEvent Details\nDate: November 2\nTime: 12:00pm-7:00pm\nLocation: American University of Armenia \nAgenda \n\n12:00pm – Introduction Lecture\n1:00pm – Start of the Competition\n6:30pm – End of the Competition and Review of the Top Solutions by the Judges\n7:00pm – Results Announcement\n\nHow to REGISTER?\nRegister here: https://forms.gle/AF1GfVz5KSfPBmGKA\n‼️Please note that the registration closes on October 29\, 11:59pm. \nSeats are limited andbased on a first-come-first-serve basis \n  \nYou can find more tech events happening in Armenia here

SUMMARY:Groktalk AI November 2024
DESCRIPTION:Groktalk AI November 2024: RAG Systems: From Prototyping to Production\nWe’re excited to announce the launch of a new series of workshops and meetups dedicated to AI. \nGroktalk AI is a fresh format designed to create a platform for: \n\nsharing experiences\,\ndiscussing the latest technologies and tools\,\nexploring industry innovations\n\nAll while having a productive time with like-minded people. \nOur first workshop will be led by Mohamed Rashad\, Co-Founder at HyperionAI\, on the topic “RAG Systems: From Prototyping to Production”. By the end of this session\, participants will be well-equipped to prototype\, deploy\, and optimize RAG systems for high-impact\, scalable AI solutions in their respective fields. \nOverview:\nThis hands-on workshop is designed to provide AI professionals with a deep dive into Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems\, exploring the journey from initial prototyping stages to full-scale production deployment. The session will cover key aspects of building RAG models\, integrating them with knowledge retrieval mechanisms\, and optimizing for production-readiness\, including scaling\, robustness\, and maintaining accuracy in real-time applications. \nAttendees will work through real-world case studies and experience practical implementation exercises\, ensuring they walk away with the skills necessary to integrate RAG models into enterprise-level AI systems. \nKey Outcomes:\n1. Understand RAG Fundamentals: Gain a comprehensive understanding of RAG systems\, including their architecture and core principles combining retrieval-based methods with generative models.\n2. Prototyping Best Practices: Learn the techniques and tools for rapid prototyping of RAG models\, including dataset creation\, model training\, and early-stage testing.\n3. Production Pipeline Development: Explore the technical challenges and solutions when transitioning from prototype to production\, focusing on efficient data pipelines\, API integration\, and real-time retrieval optimization.\n4. Scaling and Deployment: Understand how to scale RAG systems for high-traffic environments\, addressing challenges like latency\, data storage optimization\, and system performance monitoring.\n5. Model Optimization: Discover best practices for improving retrieval accuracy\, including advanced fine-tuning techniques\, and incorporating external knowledge sources for more robust performance.\n6. Real-World Use Cases: Study successful implementations of RAG systems across various industries\, providing context for practical applications such as customer support bots\, content generation tools\, and personalized recommendation systems. \nWho Should Attend:\nWe designed this workshop for AI professionals who already have experience with machine learning or NLP systems and are interested in applying RAG models within their organizations. Ideal attendees include mid-level AI engineers\, technical leads\, and those overseeing AI development teams.\nDate & time: November 7 \,19:00\nHurry up and secure your spot for Groktalk AI November 2024 on Eventbrite: http://bit.ly/4fkDaNL\nLocation: Groksmith office\, Khnko Aper street 2 (3-floor building)\, entrance from the main street. Located near the American University of Armenia.\nPlease take note that we will conduct the workshop in English.
