Future of Connectivity

On March 25-26, Yerevan will host the “Future of Connectivity” conference.
The national economies of the CIS region are undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation through the implementation of faster and more flexible technologies, ushering in a new era of telecommunications. The conference will highlight the key aspects of deploying modern technologies and explore how governments and regulatory bodies can facilitate the rapid adoption of new services in the best interest of residents.
The event aims to:

  • Gain insights into various technologies and development concepts, as well as mobile and fixed communication networks.
  •  Understand the key differences between modern and previous generations of communication technologies, including mobile, satellite, and fixed networks.
  •  Explore real-world examples of new technology deployments across the globe.
  •  Learn how governments and regulatory bodies can accelerate the introduction of new technologies and services in the country.
Topics

Over the course of two days, the conference will cover the latest technological advancements and innovations in the telecommunications sector. Discussions will focus on the following topics:

  •  International experience in deploying FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) technology based on mobile networks
  •  Development, implementation, and application of next-generation Wi-Fi 6/7/8 technologies
  •  Advancements in LPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Network) technologies in both licensed and unlicensed frequency bands
  •  Trends in space communications and analysis of LEO/MEO/GEO satellite networks
  •  Development and application of the Starlink satellite communication system
  •  Prospects and challenges of Direct-to-Device satellite communication
  •  Private cellular networks
  •  Drones operating in mobile frequency bands
  •  HIBS/HAPS (High-Altitude Platforms for Telecommunications)
  •  Autonomous networks and artificial intelligence in telecommunications
  •  Network APIs

The conference is organized by the CIS Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union, with the support of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and the Union of Operators of Armenia.

  •  Vahan Hovsepyan – Senior Community and Public Policy Advisor, RIPE NCC
  •  Dhruv Dhody – Member of the IETF Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and Co-Chair of the SRv6 Operations Working Group
  •  Dr. Liang Zhang – Optical Technology Expert at Huawei, ITU-T Study Group 15
  •  Armen Hunanyan – Head of the Telecommunications Department at the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of the Republic of Armenia
  •  Hripsime Harutyunyan – Representative of Starlink service providers in the Republic of Armenia
  •  Serob Gasparyan – Representative of Starlink service providers in the Republic of Armenia
