We are delighted to announce that #CSE and the AUA Office of the President will host a lecture on “Digital You: The Virtual Future of Medicine” featuring an esteemed guest, Dr. Peter Coveney, an author of the book “Virtual You: How Building Your Digital Twin Will Revolutionize Medicine and Change Your Life.”

The concept of virtual humans is compelling, offering an in-silico environment known as a digital twin. Here personalized medicine can be implemented. It will incorporate individual features from personal genome to the anatomy of connected organ systems and beyond into human populations and clinical trials. These virtual humans will aid in medical and clinical treatment decisions. They will reduce the need for animal testing, and serve as personal avatars, which will guide us in making informed healthcare and lifestyle choices.
Building virtual humans presents a multiscale challenge, requiring the integration of data and models across various levels, from molecular and subcellular scales to cells, tissues, and organs, and beyond addressing population health to epidemiological issues.
