The 16th Armenian Youth Championship in Robotics ArmRobotics 2024 will be held on November 2 in Yerevan, the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises reports.
This year’s theme, “Autonomous Robots in Emergencies,” is particularly relevant as the threat of earthquakes, floods, and landslides in Armenia highlights the need for advanced technological solutions in disaster response. The competition not only promotes innovation and practical problem solving, but also raises awareness of the importance of robotics in improving resilience and disaster preparedness.
On the simulation field, robots will perform tasks that arise in emergency situations, such as moving a first aid kit, putting out a fire, overcoming obstacles, etc. The aim of event is the raising of children’s awareness of the tools and functions of the rescue service in emergency situations.
The purpose of the competition is to stimulate and promote interest in robotics, programming, electronics and engineering design, to increase interest in the engineering profession, and to develop innovative thinking. It is also a platform for demonstrating the skills, abilities and knowledge of young people involved in robotics and programming.
Prizes are provided – junior age group for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places together: 1,100,000 drams, senior age group 1st, 2nd and 3rd places together, initial fund: 1,500,000 drams.
The partners of the competition are the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the State Academy of Crisis Management, Devsoft Armenia, the American University of Armenia and the Meridian Expo Center.
