The second lecture series hosted by the CSE and AUA Office of the President will explore the topic of “Enhancing the Scientific Foundations of AI”. It will feature Dr. Peter Coveney, an author of the book “Virtual You: How Building Your Digital Twin Will Revolutionize Medicine and Change Your Life.”

The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within science is expanding, although we should not allow it to redefine the scientific method. For AI to be productively integrated into scientific and other research domains, AI forms must adhere to high standards of integrity and be fully compatible with the scientific method.

In his lecture, Dr. Coveney will assess the impact of AI on research, illustrating how it often lacks reproducibility, transparency, objectivity, and mechanistic understanding.
